Nigel Todd
is in his third year with the Hawks. A forward and defenseman, he gives
versitility to the Hawks. Todd scored his
first varsity goal on January 11, 2008, which was the goal scored in a
3-goals in two-minutes rally against Northern
Valley Old Tappan at Pershing Field. Todd notched his first career hat
trick in a 6-5 win over Hackettstown High School on January 18 at the
Chill Out Rink. This was the first hat trick since Marc Malone scored
four goals against C.B.A. on January 7, 2005. It was the first hat
trick by a Hawk freshman since
Danny Galella scored a hat trick against Monsignor Donovan in the state
playoffs on March 1, 2001. Todd finished the season as the 3rd highest
scorer on the team with 17 points (finishing behind Luke Ingles and
Daniel Lucas). Last year, due to injuries among the defensive corp, Todd has gone back to the blueline to play defense. Todd starting skating at the age of five in hockey clinics in Pershing Field. His first travel team was the Jersey City Capitals Squirt A team. The following year he moved to the Bayonne Rangers Pee-wee A team where he played with teammate Chris Peterson. Todd moved to the Jersey Penguins for his second pee-wee year. Three years ago, he came back to the Bayonne Rangers on their Bantam A team where he again played with Peterson. This team went on to win the NJYHL Bantam A playoffs. Last year, he was on the Bayonne Midget 16-U team with Peterson.
