Armand Campos is in his third season with the Hawks. In his sophomore
year, Campos
was the
back-up goalie to Chris Peterson. Campos got his first varsity start
in net on January 11, 2007 against Old Tappan Regional High School at the Charlie Heger Rink in Pershing
Field. He got his first
varsity win over Newark Eastside on
February 8. In his junior year, Campos was the starting goalie on the varsity team. On February 2, 2009, Campos made a career high 42 saves against Nutley High School at the Richard Codey Arena in South Orange. At the end of the season, Campos was voted by the coaches in the division as honorable mention for the Northern Blue Division All-Star Team. In his senior year, Campos continued as the starting goalie. On February 1, 2010, in the Charlie Heger Rink in Pershing Field against Lakeland High School, Campos faced a record high 65 shots and made a career high 53 saves in one game. He faced 50 or more shots in a single game six times during the year. During the season, Campos started 22 games and faced 885 shots. At the end of the season, Campos was again voted by the coaches in the division as honorable mention for the Tri-County Ice Hockey League - Hudson/Bergen Division All-Star Team. Campos started skating at age 13 in the Charlie Heger Rink in Pershing Field. At Hudson Catholic, Campos is an honor student. For the past two years at Hudson Catholic, Campos, along with Chris Hendricks, was a catcher first on Hudson Catholic's freshman baseball team and then on the JV team. Campos is also a member of the National Honor Society, Hudson Catholic Drama Society's stage crew as well as the school's bookstore. This year he became the editor of the school's yearbook. Campos is in the nursing program at LaSalle University in Philadelphia with a scholarship. |
