Frank and Debbie's
Homepage

Wedding picture This is the home page of Frank McGady and Debbie Lucas-McGady. Frank and Debbie met at the Bayonne ice rink while Frank was coaching Debbie's nephew Justin's mite hockey team back in 1994. They got engaged on August 1, 1997 in Paris, France (sitting at the end of the Ile de la Cité, next to the Seine River, not far from Notre Dame Cathedral). Debbie & Frank were married by Monsignor Edward Hajduk on April 10, 1999 in St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church in Bayonne, New Jersey followed by a reception at the Mayfair Farms in West Orange (photo at left). Later, they spent a week of their honeymoon in Luzern, Switzerland and then two more weeks traveling through Switzerland, Southern Germany and Western Austria.

Debbie & Frank at Easter 2005 Frank, the oldest son of Rosemary and Frank McGady, was born in Philadelphia. His father was a Jazz pianist and his mother was a supervisor for the City of New York. Frank's mom, now retired, lives in Bayonne with her incredibly cute dog named Harry and her not so friendly cat named Lulu. After moving to New Jersey (where his mother was originally from), Frank spent most of his childhood growing up in Weehawken. He attended St. Augustine's Grammar School in Union City and St. Peter's Prep in Jersey City before going off to college. Frank attended Fordham University in the Bronx, Northeastern University in Boston (near Fenway Park) before finally graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from Baruch College in Manhattan.

Here are Frank & Debbie back in Easter of 2005 (photo at right) at Frank's mom's house, where they went for dinner.

Today, Frank is a high school history teacher. He has been at Hudson Catholic Regional High School in Jersey City for the past 20 years teaching U.S. History, World History, Civil War History and History of the Second World War. He has been a varsity hockey coach since 1993 (including the state championship year of 2000) and head varsity hockey coach from 2001-2004 and again in 2010-2013. Frank has been an member of the executive board of New Jersey Youth Hockey League for the past 25 years and is currently serving as the league's president (since 2005). In 2012, he was elected a USA Hockey Director. In 2013, he was named Atlantic District “Volunteer of the Year.†Frank enjoys photography, history, movies (especially old movies), traveling and visiting the gravesites of former Presidents of the United States (not to mention photographing the graves of other famous people). Frank, a member of Red Sox Nation, is still celebrating their World Series Championship in 2004, 2007 and again in 2013. He is also a fan of the Boston Bruins – Stanley Cup champions in 2011 and the Minnesota Vikings (only sadness here).

Debbie & Frank at the prom 2005 Here is Frank & Debbie (photo above left) celebrating their Fifth Wedding Anniversary on April 10, 2004. This picture was taken in their living room with the beautiful red roses that Frank bought for Debbie. They recently celebrated their 10th anniversary with a return to Paris.

Debbie, the oldest daughter of Winifred and William Lucas, was born and raised in Bayonne. Her father, a Korean War veteran, worked for Western Electric in Kearny while her mother took care of their home. Debbie attended Lincoln Public Grammar School, where she was the valedictorian, and Holy Family Academy in Bayonne, where she received the Bausch & Lomb Science Award at graduation. Debbie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology (with honors). She received a Master of Science degree in Bio-Chemistry from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck.

Christmas 2007 In the photo upper right, Debbie & Frank were photographed at the 2005 Hudson Catholic senior prom. The photo at left is from Christmas of 2007. They just got back from Christmas Mass and opened their presents. It must have been very exhausting.

Today, Debbie was a molecular biologist at Hoffman-LaRoche in Nutley where she worked since college (34 years). After the company closed its Nutley site, she became a biology teacher at Hudson Catholic High School. She is an avid hockey fan who cheers loudly for her beloved New Jersey Devils (Stanley Cup Champions 1995, 2000 & 2003). Debbie has also been involved in youth hockey, being a board member of the Bayonne Rangers Youth Hockey Organization for a number of years. She also teaches CCD courses at St. Henry's, helps run the Confirmation program, RCIA program and is involved with the Children's Liturgy on Sundays. Debbie and Frank both are lectors and Eucharistic Ministers at St. Henry's Church. Debbie enjoys reading, cooking and traveling.

Debbie & Frank reside in Bayonne. They have five nephews, four of whom play hockey, and used to spend much of their time traveling to different ice rinks to see them play.

Debbie & Frank love to travel. In the United States they have visited San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Boston, Washington D.C., Colorado Springs, Denver, Newport, Williamsburg (Virginia), Orlando, Lexington (Virginia), Portland (Oregon), Philadelphia, Plymouth (Massachusetts), Cleveland, Richmond (Virginia), Springfield (Illinois), Palm Beach, Las Vegas, Nashville, Ft.
